چکیده

Abstract. Keyboard-typing tracking offers a convenient behavioral data collection method in web-based study settings. This paper investigated the feasibility of utilizing keyboard-typing for stress measurement. We present from two experiments: laboratory with N = 53 participants and an online 924 participants. In both studies, typed standardized text sequences during high-stress or low-stress condition. The manipulation checks revealed consistent differences participant’s levels according to experimental conditions. analysis 11 typing features frequentist machine learning methods few isolated links between keyboard typing, but results were inconsistent across studies methods. To foster replication, critical discussion, new developments, we follow open science principles data, source, methodology.

SliceType: Fast Gaze Typing with a Merging Keyboard

Jitter is an inevitable byproduct of gaze detection. Because of this, gaze typing tends to be a slow and frustrating process. In this paper, we propose SliceType, an on-screen keyboard that is optimized for gaze input. Our main objective is to use the screen area more efficiently. We achieve this by determining the keys that will not be used for the next input, and allocating their space to adj...

Comparing Typing Speeds for Keyboard Layouts Fairly and Efficiently

With the advent of ubiquitous computing, we have seen a proliferation of input modes for many kinds of devices. Notably, with the advent of programmable devices such as smart phones, we can easily design and program new layouts in software. Without a standard methodology for evaluating these new layouts, user interface designers have had to design and conduct individual tests for each new desig...
